Witteberg captain: Jandré Schoeman
Witterberg captain Jandré Schoeman is the epitome of what a schoolboy sportsman should be, someone who just loves playing sport.
The 18-year-old who is in his second year of playing in the school's first XV, displays good organisational skills and has the ability to remain calm under pressure.
"I like to keep things as simple as possible. The team looks to me (as captain) and I need to be the example to them and set a certain standard that they can follow. That is why I lead by setting the example," he said.
Witteberg have had a tough season with some close games which, unfortunately, never went their way. Their next game is no different as Schoeman is wary of the threat Voortrekker poses.
"Voortrekker is a great side and playing against them is always going to be tough. They like to play a fast paced game and one should never under estimate them. They are, after all, unbeaten in the league," he added.
There's a rich history between the schools with Voortrekker getting the better of Witteberg but Schoeman believes that his side is due a win.
"There's a very rich history between us and there have been some great encounters over the years. We lost by a single point two years ago but a win is due for Witteberg," he said.
The openside flank believes they have learnt valuable lessons throughout the season and hopes his teammates will step onto the field and play a game that will go down as one for the history books.
"We heading into the game with the starting XV who has played most of the season. It's fairly balanced team with some youth and experience. I would just want the team to perform according to their ability and play a game to be remembered by," he stated.
