Bulls facing flyhalf crisis?
INJURY UPDATE: The Bulls are possibly faced with a flyhalf crisis following their 20-28 defeat to the Boland Cavaliers in Wellington on Sunday.
The result saw the Bulls remain in sixth position on the Currie Cup table after a strong start to the competition, where they topped the log after the opening two rounds with emphatic wins over Western Province and the Sharks.

During Sunday’s match against Boland, Boeta Chamberlain went down injured after taking a conversion kick following captain Nama Xaba’s try and was in visible pain as he sat down on the sidelines.
There are also concerns regarding Jaco van der Walt, who also suffered an injury during that match, leaving head coach Phiwe Nomlomo with a throbbing headache ahead of their clash against Griquas.
Nomlomo said that they are holding their breath regarding the respective injuries before making a selection call later this week.
“We’re going to have to see what we look like going into next week in terms of what we have from a medical and contact perspective,” he explained.
Should both playmakers be ruled out, Nomlomo might have to call in reinforcements from the junior structures or deploy players such as scrumhalves Booklyn Newman and Zak Burger in the No.10 jumper, as there are no other recognised flyhalves in the Bulls’ Currie Cup squad.
