Cheetahs hold onto key players and say goodbye to six
NEWS: The Cheetahs have announced some key contract renewals as they build for the future.
Frans Steyn’s side will also be saying goodbye to several players ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
Scrumhalf Marco Janse van Rensburg and outside back Munier Hartzenberg have both signed on until 2028.
Meanwhile, speedsters Cohen Jasper, Prince Nkabinde and Shaun Ray have also extended their stays.
The Cheetahs have also held onto a number of key forwards.
Those players are Gideon van der Merwe, John Kelly Okonkwo, Pierre Raymond Uys, Aranos Coetzee, Mihlali Mosi and hooker Marko Janse van Rensburg.
Loose forward Sisonke Vumazonke has committed until 2029, while loosehead prop Matome “Dux” Manyama has extended his stay until 2028
The following players will be leaving the Cheetahs: Pieter Janse van Vuuren, George Lourens, Banie Brits, James Verity-Amm, Franco Smith and Thabang Mhalasi.
