This week, the Eagles revealed that their assistant coach Zane Kirchner will now be their new head coach.

He takes over from Anton Moolman, who will take up a role at UXI Sport as the National Rugby Program Director.

The 39-year-old Kirchner has 31 Test caps to his name. He also represented Griquas, the Bulls, Leinster, Dragons and the.Bristol Bears

“While embracing the magnitude of responsibility, I’m under no illusion to the task at hand and what it will take,” said Kirchner.

“This is an opportunity to serve and hopefully show each of these men the quality they all hold to becoming the best version of themselves.

“A word of appreciation for the belief and trust shown. To the masses throughout the broader rugby communities near and far, thanks for the well wishes, words of encouragement and continuous support.”
