Bulls keep a Bok on their books
NEWS: The Blue Bulls continue to re-sign some of their most promising players.
The Blue Bulls Company confirmed on Monday that Springbok prop Trevor Nyakane has also re-pledged his elegance to the franchise until October 2019.
His signing follows confirmation that fellow Boks Embrose Papier and Warrick Gelant extended their contracts with the BBC.
Nyakane has played in 91 Super Rugby matches – 42 for the Cheetahs and 49 for the Bulls – and has also donned the green and gold of the Springboks on 37 occasions.
“Trevor’s contribution to the Bulls is more than just his amazing on-field abilities,” BBC High Performance Manager Xander Janse van Rensburg said.
“He is an absolute team man and an inspiration to us all.
We are privileged to have an athlete of his calibre.”
* Meanwhile the Bulls started their preparations for their first Currie Cup home match – against the Golden Lions this coming weekend.
The team escaped without injuries from their 10-26 loss to the Sharks this past weekend.
Theo Maree and Ruben van Heerden are recovering well but will not be available for selection this weekend.
Stedman Gans and Roelof Smit are continuing with their rehabilitation and will be out for 2-3 and four weeks respectively.
