Bulls searching for accuracy
Marais pointed out at a media conference in Pretoria that there is nothing wrong with his team's game plan, but he did pinpoint his team's wasted opportunities against the Cheetahs which they will look to improve on against the Eastern Province Kings in Round Three.
"They [Cheetahs] made 121 tackles and we only made 61, we had more of the ball but we were not accurate enough to convert it into points," said Marais
"Against Western Province, we started running from our own 22 and we rounded off and scored.
"Against the Cheetahs, we attacked from our own 22 and we lost the ball on the tryline and conceded seven points.
"The conversion rate has to be better and you still need to get the win no matter how good your rugby is.
"We need to be more accurate in the way we want to play."
Marais added that the Kings will pose a different type of challenge this weekend as they are a fairly new group of players and they have nothing to lose with all the pressure being on the Bulls who have won the Currie Cup on 23 occasions throughout their history which includes four shared titles.
"I don't like games like this. If we beat them [Kings] by just five points everybody is going to say but you guys are weak. If we beat them by 50 points everybody will say you should have beat them by 50 points. For me it's about focusing on what we need to fix from the past two weeks.
"From our side it's more about us than them. They have nothing to lose they can throw the ball around and do whatever they want," explained Marais.
The Bulls currently sit in fourth place on the Currie Cup Premier Division table with five points from two games which includes one victory and one defeat, while the Kings find themselves in eighth position with no points to show after one defeat from one game played in this year's competition.
