Cheetahs lure Bull out of the Kraal

The Free State Cheetahs are continue to find quality recruits in the Blue Bulls' Kraal.

According to the Bloemfontein-based Volksblad newspaper Bulls loose forward Jean Cook will return to Bloemfontein at the end of the current Currie Cup season.

Cook, who started out his career with the Cheetahs, where made he only made one senior appearance before switching to the Bulls in 2012, has signed a one-year deal with the Bloemfontein outfit.

He received his first call up to the Bulls Super Rugby squad in 2013 and marked his debut with a try against the Force in a 36-26 win.

He made 14 appearances for the Bulls in Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup games last year.

Cook's agent, BC du Plessis confirmed the move to the Cheetahs.

The loose forward is currently sidelined with a hand fracture and should return to the playing field in about a month.

"Jean [Cook] is grateful for the opportunities the Bulls gave him," Du Plessis told Volksblad.

"He is looking forward to his return to Bloemfontein and the new challenges with the Cheetahs," the agent added.

"He realises the Cheetahs have some exceptional loose forwards, but hopes to make a contribution to the team's success."

Cook was a member of Grey College in Bloem the year that he was called up to the South African schools team in 2009.

He joins another Bull, midfielder Francois Venter in the 450km trek from Pretoria to Bloemfontein at the end of the season.
