The 28-year-old has been with the Pumas for the last three seasons and was part of the squad that helped the Nelspruit team win the Currie Cup for the first time last year.

Mgijima joined the Cheetahs in 2016 and made the squad for the Currie Cup qualification series. He made his debut in May of that year, defeating the Pumas.

During the 2017 Super Rugby season, Mgijima was named on the bench for the Cheetahs’ match against the Sunwolves and made his debut.

Meanwhile, Rewan Kruger, Andisa Ntsila and Laurence Victor renewed their contracts with the Cheetahs.

Kruger and Ntsila have both signed on the dotted line for another two years.

Kruger made his Currie Cup debut for the Cheetahs against the Griquas in January 2022.

He played in eleven of the thirteen Currie Cup matches that season as a substitute for Cheetahs captain Ruan Pienaar.

Ntsila played 49 matches for the Sothern Kings before he joined the Cheetahs in 2020.

He made his debut for the Cheetahs in October of that year against the Pumas in Bloemfontein.

Victor joined the Cheetahs in 2022, playing for the Under-20 side.
