Harris heading to Wales

Brok Harris has finally quelled speculation of his next move after it was confirmed that the Stormers prop would play for Newport Gwent Dragons after the Currie Cup

The 29-year-old who can play both sides of the scrum has penned a three year deal with the Welsh Region.

The experienced front row forward has made over 90 appearances for the Stormers since making his debut for the side in 2007 and just recently completed 100 appearances for Western Province in the Currie Cup.

On signing Harris, Lyn Jones commented: “Following a particularly difficult period last season in the tighter areas of the game, we’ve been determined to ensure there is no repeat.

“Brok will offer the expertise and experience we need to help our young Gwent props grow into future Welsh international players.”

However, Harris won’t feature at the Dragons until October at the earliest while he fulfils his Currie Cup commitments with Western Province.

Harris missed the end of the Stormers’ Super Rugby season after undergoing shoulder surgery but is a fortnight away from a return to action.
