Two of the injury-enforced changes are amongst the forwards, while the only backline change is rotation.

Gustav du Randt starts at hooker in place of veteran Simon Westraadt, with a hamstring strain at the heart of the forced change.

Du Randt has been training with the squad all season and gets a deserved start.

Janco Uys, who also struggled with hamstring problems, has recovered enough to provide cover on the bench.

Lock Mzwanele Zito has been ruled out with a suspected fractured nose, with Johan Retief promoted from the bench to the starting XV.

Cameron Lindsay, a regular starter last year, comes onto the bench to provide second row cover.

The only backline change sees Johan Mulder starting at scrumhalf ahead of veteran Stefan Ungerer.

Mulder has impressed in his stints off the bench and is groomed for when Ungerer departs for Cape Town at the conclusion of the Currie Cup season.

Another change on the bench sees Justin Forwood come back from a lengthy lay-off to make provide some experience among the replacements,.

Griquas: 15 Rynhardt Jonker, 14 Munier Hartzenberg, 13 Sango Xamlashe, 12 Alex-Zander du Plessis, 11 Luther Obi, 10 George Whitehead, 9 Johan Mulder, 8 Sibabalo Qoma, 7 Hanru Sirgel, 6 Niel Otto (captain), 5 Derik Pretorius, 4 Johan Retief, 3 Janu Botha, 2 Gustav du Randt, 1 Kudzwai Dube.
