It's not looking good for Basson

Basson was the only major casualty from that match for Province, which they won 45-34.

"He got a big knock on his AC joint that is quite sensitive – it usually takes a bit of time to heal," said Snyman.

"We will reassess him tomorrow [Tuesday] and see how is doing, but he came off early so that is not a good sign."

Meanwhile, there was some good news concerning the two BlitzBoks in Western Province's squad.

"We will possibly have Ruhan Nel returning from injury after his shoulder rehab process," Snyman added.

"Werner Kok is on his way back, but he won't be ready for this weekend."

Province take on the Golden Lions at Newlands on Friday.
