Lambie is back ... on the bench

Lambie is back ... on the benchLambie, who has been sidelined since a sickening clash with Irish flank Christiaan Stander in the first Test between the Springboks and the Irish at Newlands on June 11, will play off the bench when the Sharks host the Eastern Province Kings in Durban in a Round Seven Currie Cup match on Saturday.

All the concussion 'return-to-play' protocols have been met, as Lambie was slowly eased back in training, and his 'rehabilitation' will continue as his game time is carefully managed.

The 51-times capped Bok, although just 25, will bring plenty of experience to Saturday's crucial clash with the Kings.

Scrumhalf Michael Claassens replaces Stefan Ungerer to bring added experience to the starting line-up.

There are also a number of changes up front.

Francois Kleinhans has been shifted to No.8 to replace the injured Philip van der Walt (concussion against the Free State Cheetahs).

This opens the door for Khaya Majola, who will start on the flank.

In a rejigged front row, Thomas du Toit shifts to loosehead prop, with John-Hubert Meyer coming in at tighthead and hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle handed the captaincy.
