Lambie to feature against Kings?
Lambie has been out of action since getting concussed after a sickening clash with Ireland's Christiaan Stander on June 11.
Sharks team doctor Alan Kourie confirmed on Monday that Lambie would resume full training this week, but did not go as far to say if he could be a certain addition to the Sharks' matchday 23 for Saturday.
"[He] Will resume full training this week and he will be monitored by the medical staff to determine how he comes through," said Kourie in his injury report. "This does not necessarily mean that he will be available for selection this week."
The Sharks are coming off a second straight defeat in this year's Currie Cup Premier Division and Lambie's experience could play a vital role in the Durbanites title aspirations.
Lambie could also be an option for Springbok coach Allister Coetzee in the coming weeks as the Boks are struggling to find their feet in this year's Rugby Championship with Elton Jantjies as their chief playmaker.
In other injury news, veteran wing Odwa Ndungane is out for the rest of the season after he tore his pectoral muscle in the 30-38 defeat to the Free State Cheetahs last weekend.
He will undergo an operation on Wednesday.
Captain Keegan Daniel and fellow loose forward Philip van der Walt will also not be available for their team's clash against the Kings.
Daniel, who was a late withdrawal from the team that faced the Cheetahs, has an abdominal strain, while Van der Walt is out with concussion.
Wing Sibusiso Sithole is another casualty from the Cheetahs game. He is out with a groin strain.
Lock Stephan Lewies, who was also a late withdrawal from last week's team with a hamstring strain, will undergo a fitness later this week.
Loose forward Jean Deysel (hip flexor strain) is another player will also undergo a late fitness test this week.
Meanwhile, Sharks head coach Robert du Preez admitted that his team's loss to the Cheetahs was down to their inability to compete effectively in the set pieces.
"The set pieces was a huge problem area for us – particularly the scrums, so we could never get going," said Du Preez.
"The line-outs were not great either and then we just battled to exit.
"You got to have a good set piece and a good base to play from, so I think that is where it started.
"We were obviously disrupted a lot this week Stephan Lewies and Keegan's [Daniel] late withdrawals and then you lose your captain [Philip van der Walt] in the first minute and then your vice-captain [Odwa Ndungane].
"It is a young team and I think we battled to get over those losses in the game."
