Leyds steps to the fore at fullback
Leyds will surely be hoping to emulate his 'victory' dance this week, but perhaps after 80 minutes, in an actual winning team – this time around wearing the No.15 jersey.
Cheslin Kolbe will not be risked against the Pumas after suffering a bone bruising on his ankle.
Province attacking coach Dawie Snyman has full confidence in Leyds and the rest of the teams attacking options for Saturday's Currie Cup clash.
"Cheslin [Kolbe] gave us a lot from the back. Having a guy like Dillyn [Leyds]that can slot in there, and Kobus [van Wyk]who had a good 30 min when he was on the park is exciting," said Snyman.
"I'm sure that the guys filling in for Cheslin will do a good job for us."
Leyds has come back to form after the teams disappointing loss to the Blue Bulls at Loftus Versveld, and Leyds is excited to take this form into the fullback position.
"I'm very excited to be playing fullback again," said Leyds.
"It's not an unfamiliar position for me and I'm excited to get a chance again.
"I hope to get a few attacking opportunities [from the back].
"At fullback there is much more room to attack with [as opposed to playing wing], and you have a bit more time to make decisions."
However, Leyds will come up against a Pumas team that will surely test him under the high-ball.
They also rely quite heavily on their other tactical kicking options.
Leyds will have to make sure he kicks good return kicks if an aerial ping-pong becomes a Pumas tactic.
"The kicking game is important. The Pumas have many guys that kick the ball quite a distance," added Leyds.
"As a back three we need to be spot-on with our roles and responsibilities."
Kolbe's influence on the game might not be that sorely missed as Snyman believes that the two players have "the same mindset" and the "same style of play."
