Pumas scrum needs more than Koch
Koch had a very good game against the Sharks but perhaps the coach needs to find the best front row combination to compliment his star player.
The Pumas coach admitted that the penalty count at scrum-time against the Sharks is a cause for concern.
"We will definitely look at the set-pieces, especially the scrums where we conceded many penalties," said a disappointed Mentz in an interview after the nail-biting 26-27 loss to the Sharks.
Looking ahead to the Griquas match the coach said that there is plenty for them to work on this week.
"Luckily we are only playing on Saturday and there are many things we need to put in place," Mentz said.
"We will also have to be much more effective in attack and use our chances better."
Mentz will be hoping to turn his team's fortunes around after back-to-back defeats to the Lions and Sharks respectively.
Mentz was relatively happy with the Pumas' defence but felt that the few tackles that they did miss had led to them gifting the Sharks a few easy tries.
The Pumas are awaiting the medical report for JC Roos (knee ligament) and JW Bell (hamstring) injuries that may rule them out against the Griquas next weekend.
"It will be a huge loss if both of them were ruled out for the Griquas game.
"Besides a few bumps and bruises there are no further major injury concerns," Mentz added
