In a statement released late on Tuesday, SA Rugby confirmed that the match between the Pumas and Sharks, scheduled for Nelspruit on Wednesday, has been cancelled in line with COVID-19 protocols.

The decision to cancel the Nelspruit game was prompted by positive tests in the Sharks team.

The Durban side has informed SA Rugby that they are not able to field a team for the match without putting player welfare at risk.

As determined by the competition rules, the Pumas will be awarded four log points because of the cancellation and the result will be noted as 0-0.

The two matches that will take place on Wednesday will see the Bulls host Griquas in Pretoria and the Cheetahs up against the Lions in Bloemfontein.
