WP aiming for silverware in London

Western Province have set twin goals for the next four weeks, to win the Currie Cup and then to become the first South African provincial side to beat Saracens in London.

The Cape team will travel to the United Kingdom to play Saracens at Allianz Park on Sunday November 9.

Western Province will follow in the foot steps of the Sharks who travelled to London earlier this year as part of their preparation for the Super Rugby campaign.

However, in that instance it was the Londoners that came out on top in January securing a 23-15 victory.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for our players and we will certainly be fielding our strongest available team,” said Rob Wagner, WP CEO.

“Everybody in South African rugby has been following Saracens’ success in the last few season, and everybody saw the Sharks get beaten at Allianz Park earlier this year.

"It will be a great occasion, and we can’t wait."
