Pumas have a new captain

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT: The Pumas will have a new captain when the head to Loftus Versfeld to face the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup match.

Lock Hugo Kloppers will take over the captaincy in the absence of regular skipper Hennie Skorbinski, who sustained an injury during last weekend’s defeat to the Sharks in Durban.

The the centre’s absence means that there will be a new centre combinations. Ryan ‘Whitey’ Nel will switch to inside centre and wing Neill Maritz moves to outside centre.

Devon Williams gets a start at fullback in place of injured Gerrit Smith. The final change in the backline sees Morne Joubert moves to right wing.

The only change in the pack is the inclusion of former Blue Bulls player Andrew Beerwinkel. The tighthead prop has been impressive from the bench and could be the injection the Pumas pack for the Blue Bulls.
