Sharks change two for Cheetahs showdown

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT: The Sharks opted for consistency in their matchday squad for their Round Two Currie Cup clash against the Cheetahs.

There’s one change in the starting line-up and another on the bench.

Danilo Botha comes in for Jannes Potgieter at No.7 whilst Bryce Calvert is named as the reserve hooker, replacing Jacques Marais.

Botha is joined by No.8 and captain Thomas Dyer and Willem van den Heever in the loose trio.

Deon Slabbert and Johan Momsen join tighthead prop Simphiwe Ngobese, hooker Kerron van Vuuren and loosehead Cameron Dawson in the tight five.

In the backs, BlitzBok flyer Christie Grobbelaar and Lyle Matthews retain their spots on the wings with Chijindu Okonta at fullback to form the back three.

Janco Purchase and Marnus Potgieter retain their centre partnership whilst Ross Braude and Tim Swiel will form the halfback combination once more.

Sharks: 15 Chijindu Okonta, 14 Christie Grobbelaar, 13 Marnus Potgieter, 12 Janco Purchase, 11 Lyle Matthews, 10 Tim Swiel, 9 Ross Braude, 8 Thomas Dyer (captain), 7 Danilo Botha, 6 Willem van den Hever, 5 Deon Slabbert, 4 Johan Momsen, 3 Simphiwe Ngobese, 2 Kerron van Vuuren, 1 Cameron Dawson.
