Experienced No.10 back for Cheetahs

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT: The Cheetahs will welcome back seasoned flyhalf Jaco van der Walt as they gear up for their Round Three clash with Ulster in the Challenge Cup in Amsterdam on Sunday.

Van der Walt suffered a hamstring injury in December, leading to him being rested as a precaution during their Challenge Cup matches.

Prop Dux Manyama will start in the front row, with Cameron Dawson providing cover on the bench.

Sisonke Vumazonke replaces the injured Pierre Uys (facial fracture).

The centres are Zander du Plessis and De-an Ackermann. Munier Hartzenberg will wear the No. 14 jersey, with James Verity-Amm at fullback.

Regular captain Victor Sekekete is not in Amsterdam due to a facial fracture sustained earlier in the competition.

The Free State outfit was no match for the Exeter Chiefs on the road in Round One, and while they showed greater fight at their overseas home in Amsterdam against Stade Français, they were still handed a painful 22-45 defeat.

Back-to-back wins are now a must for the Cheetahs to stay alive in the Challenge Cup.

They travel to Racing 92 in the final match of the group stage on January 18.
