'I could not be happier': Bok bruiser signs on the dotted line for Stormers
NEWS: The Stormers received another boost as they plan for the future.
On Thursday, the franchise confirmed that Springbok loose forward Evan Roos has signed a contract extension that will see him continue to play his rugby in Cape Town until at least 2028.
The explosive No.8 has again been a central figure this season, scoring six tries as the Stormers started the campaign with a run of 10 wins from 11 games.

He burst onto the scene at the age of just 21, winning the URC Players’ Player of the Season award in 2022 as his team took the title.
Having earned national honours as a result of his impressive performances at club level, Roos is poised to further build on the 74 Stormers caps he has earned so far.
Roos said that he is focused on contributing as much as he can to the squad’s goals in the coming years.
“I could not be happier to be extending with this team. Cape Town is home and I have a fantastic support base here, not to mention the fans and the incredible set-up we have with a strong squad and world-class coaches.
“I know that the best is yet to come from this team and I’m just really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together going forward,” he said.
Director of Rugby John Dobson said that it is hugely encouraging to see a player of Roos’ calibre commit himself to the project.
“Evan made such a huge impact for us at a very young age, it is hard to believe he is still only 25. This extension means that we have him here for the prime of his career and I’m convinced we are yet to see the best of him in our jersey.
“He is a player who has such incredible natural ability and would fit in well at any club in the world. But what is perhaps more impressive is the way he carries himself around his teammates. There are few players as committed to the cause as Evan and we are thrilled to have him stay with us,” he said.
Last month, Springbok flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu signed a long-term contract extension that will keep him in Cape Town until at least July 2029.
