The double Champions Cup winner has struggled to recover from an Achilles heel injury and according to French newspaper L’Equipe he he has been forced to end his career.

The La Rochelle winger ruptured his Achilles tendon during a pre-season training session last August and was scheduled to be out for five months.

However, his return to play has been a troubling time and it seems his appearance against Catres on April 20, 2024 will be his last match.

Rhule with fellow South African winger Dillyn Leyds have formed a potent partnership for French Top 14 club La Rochelle, helping them to back-to-back Champion Cup titles.

He scored the side’s first try in the 2022 Champions Cup Final against Leinster.

The 32-year-old played seven Tests for the Springboks in 2017 and represented the SA under-20 side as well.
