Armitage awaits his fate

Delon Armitage has been forced to wait for a decision after he appealed against a 12 week suspension with the hearing set to to decide on Friday.

The independent Appeal Hearing convened in London on Thursday, January 8 to consider the appeal by Armitage against the suspension imposed on him.

The independent Appeal Committee is made up of Lorne Crerar (Scotland), Chairman, Rod McKenzie (Scotland) and Jean-Noel Couraud (France) and will reconvene on Friday to determine their decision and issue it to all parties.

The Appeal Committee heard submissions on behalf of Armitage and on behalf of the EPCR Disciplinary Officer.

The player was accompanied at the hearing by his legal representatives, Mark Milliken-Smith and Julian Pike.

The original independent Disciplinary Committee had found that Armitage had directed abusive language at supporters after his club's European Rugby Champions Cup match against Leicester Tigers on December 7 last year and was therefore guilty of misconduct.
