Bath looking for Champions Cup lift

The West Country side travel to three-time reigning champions Toulon on Sunday in their rescheduled Pool 5 fixture. While a win on the Cote D'Azur would boost Bath's quarterfinal push, some inconsistent form has seen them fall to eighth in the Premiership. And head coach Ford is hoping for a reaction from their defeat in the North East.

"I think the players need to have a look at themselves and ask if they were ready to play mentally," said Ford. "We know what it's like here. It's always windy. Today it was wet and windy. The players have got to have a good look at themselves because it's not good enough.

"The first thing you've got to do is hold your hand up and hopefully the players will come back in on Tuesday and do that. We've got to be truthful to ourselves and honest to ourselves. We put a poor performance in today. If we go to Toulon sulking, it's going to be a hard afternoon. We need to somehow get a bit of confidence back and take it from there."

Bath have three Champions Cup games back-to-back. After their clash with holders Toulon, Ford's men then face Leinster away from home before finishing their pool 5 campaign at home to Toulon.
