Baxter frustrated with loss to Ospreys
A try from wing James Short and five points from the boot of Gareth Steenson had the seen the in-form Premiership side take a 10-6 advantage into the dressing rooms at the interval.
But Ospreys turned the tables as flyhalf Dan Biggar kicked 20 points, including the conversion of Josh Matavesi's late interception try, to give the Welsh side the spoils and deny Chiefs a losing bonus point at the Liberty Stadium.
"I am massively frustrated, they looked more comfortable with the evening than we did. We never settled or looked comfortable and I think that sums it up. We created opportunities and had a lot of the game but we never seemed to realise it.
"We never got going after the break, we made errors, shot ourselves in the foot after scoring and got ragged. We did not take a grip on the game. The clock and scoreboard were not against us but we played like they were," Baxter said.
The fixture rounded off a sombre opening weekend following the terror attacks in Paris but Baxter was quick to dismiss any suggestion an emotional weekend had affected his side's performance.
"In some ways I would like to say we have had some distractions but I cannot say that. We had a long preparation for this game going from a Saturday one week into the following Sunday and we should have been prepared and comfortable. We were ready to play the game," he added.
