Confident Sarries ready for Clermont

 

Wyles ran-in one of three tries that saw the North Londoners sink Munster 33-10 at Allianz Park on Saturday.

 

Munster's worst European defeat since 1996 means they will not feature in the quarterfinals for the first time in 17 years.

 

But it's a different story for Sarries who setup a Pool One decider at ASM Clermont Auvergne in Round Six. 

 

Wyles delivered after being thrust into action as a late replacement for David Strettle and he says his side will be flying high into the Stade Marcel-Michelin clash.

 

"Clermont will be a massive occasion and we can take a lot of confidence from our performance into the game," he said.

 

"We know that away at Clermont is a tough as it comes, but it's definitely exciting times for the club and we're really looking forward to Sunday."

 

Saracens are just one point behind Clermont heading into the last round of pool fixtures, and could seal their place with victory. But the French side are also in fine form, having claimed a 22-13 away victory at Sale. And Wyles cannot wait to get back into Champions Cup action.

 

"There was such a great vibe out on the pitch and we knew Munster would provide us with such a tough test and as a group we pulled through. We were physical, we were clinical it was a great day overall," he said.

 

"There was just a good atmosphere all round. We were energised and our physicality overall was good and we just did our fundamentals really well today.

 

"We're delighted."
