Davies: Scarlets earned this
Scarlets star Aled Davies claimed victory over Leicester Tigers was all down to the way the side had played in Toulon against the defending champions a week earlier.
It was Davies' second half interception try that finally slammed the door in the face of the Premiership giants and enabled the Scarlets to notch their first win in this season's tournament.
"We felt we should have got something in Toulon and we wanted to back up that performance," said 22-year-old Davies.
"People were saying Toulon did not turn up last week but we felt we had put them under real pressure and deserved to get a point.
"What we have shown in the last couple of weeks is what we can do but we know we have to keep on improving. We need to cut down in the errors."
The Scarlets forced the Tigers to concede 20 turnovers and 10 penalties as they really got amongst the visitors.
They also forced them to lose twice as many rucks and mauls as they did.
"We have a new defence coach this season and we have been through some changes," added Davies.
"We have stuck with the system, trained hard and shown what we can do tonight. The boys were superb in defence."
New head coach Wayne Pivac was delighted to stick to their task and come up with their first home win in nine matches in Europe's top tier.
"The first 20 minutes were not what we were after, but we improved in the second 20 and we talked about that at half-time," he said
"One we got the line speed working in defence it paid dividends for us.
"Byron Hayward has done a lot of work with the players on defence and they really wanted to make sure they got something out of these 80 minutes."
