Foley searching for answers
The Munstermen could not overcome the Top 14 champions, despite them losing Josaia Raisuqe to a red card on the stroke of half-time.
Instead, Stade scored two tries to Munster's one, leaving Foley's side needing a miracle to make it out of Champions Cup Pool Four.
It is most likely going to be the second consecutive season that Munster will not feature in the quarterfinals, with five match points from four rounds of action.
And Foley has urged everyone involved to find the answers that could propel Munster back to where they belong.
"It's disappointing, there were opportunities in the second-half that we didn't execute," Foley said.
"We didn't play and we didn't score, they held us at nil for long periods.
"We never really put pressure on them and never took advantage of the extra man and we suffered the consequences.
"We need to look within, deep down like we always do and come up with a solution.
"We need to dig deep and come up with our own answers, their will be people out there with solutions, but we need to come up with our own solutions.
"We need to turn up for our supporters next week and put on a show. It's about showing our character, showing who we are and showing who we represent. We're all disappointed, but it's about showing our true character."
