Gloucester's Moriarty cited
EPCR has received a citing complaint against the Gloucester's loose forward, Ross Moriarty, following the European Challenge Cup Final against Edinburgh on May 1.
Moriarty is alleged to have struck Edinburgh replacement, Fraser McKenzie, with his knee in the 54th minute of the match at the Twickenham Stoop.
The complaint was made by the match citing commissioner, Yves Thieffine (France).
Mark McParland (Ireland) has been appointed as the independent judicial officer for the hearing which will take place in Dublin on Thursday.
10.4 (a) Punching or striking. A player must not strike an opponent with the fist or arm, including the elbow, shoulder, head or knee(s).
Under the World Rugby Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 10.4 (a) Striking a player with the knee carries the following sanction entry points – Low End: three weeks; Mid-Range: eight weeks; Top End: 12+ to 52 weeks.
