Munster set to return to play
Foley was found dead, aged 42, in his hotel room hours ahead of his side's European Champions Cup clash in Paris with French side Racing 92 on Sunday. That fixture was postponed as a mark of respect and there had been speculation that Saturday's match might be delayed as well.
But following an announcement earlier on Wednesday that Foley's funeral would take place on Friday, it was confirmed that Saturday's 12.00 GMT kick-off against Glasgow at Limerick's Thomond Park would go ahead as planned, in what promises to be an emotional 48 hours for Munster supporters.
A statement issued by tournament organisers EPCR also asked that a minute's silence or applause in memory of the former Ireland backrow forward be observed at all European Champions and Challenge Cup ties this weekend.
"EPCR can officially confirm that the Munster v Glasgow Warriors Champions Cup, Round Two match will be played as scheduled at Thomond Park on Saturday (kick-off 12.00 GMT).
"The decision was made after close consultation with the Munster management.
"At this particularly difficult time following the passing of Anthony Foley, EPCR would like to once again convey its deepest sympathies to the Foley family and to everyone at Munster.
"EPCR has requested that a minute's silence or a minute's applause in Anthony's memory be observed at all Round Two matches in the Champions Cup and the Challenge Cup," a statement said.
