North: Tries my bread and butter
George North wrote himself into Northampton Saints' European record book by scoring a club-equalling four tries for the Saints against Welsh flag bearers the Ospreys at Franklin's Gardens.
Paul Diggin set the mark of four tries in a top tier European game in a 37-0 home victory over Edinburgh back in the 2010/11 tournament and North ensure the Saints picked up the maximum five points on offer by matching his effort.
It was the first hat-trick in this season's tournament, the Wales and British & Irish Lions wing ace adding: "Tries are your bread and butter as a wing but that was the first time I have scored four tries in a game.
"It was a result we all needed. It was one of those days when I needed a good performance, not just for myself but for the team.
"We had to get a result and Calum Clark was outstanding for us and can carry us forward in this competition.
"It was a difficult task going to Paris last week and we were pretty hard on each other in training this week, we knew after last week's defeat just how tough this Pool is going to be.
"The Ospreys came here as a team playing well and playing with confidence so we wanted to start well and we did just that.
"We did not let them play and after a performance like that anything is possible."
TRY ONE: "That was an overlap try – it was just about being in the right place at the right time."
TRY TWO: "Ken Pisi did exceptionally well to beat two men and gave me a run-in on the inside."
TRY THREE: "That was just a question of backing myself against some smaller defenders."
TRY FOUR: "I learnt off my good friend Scott Williams how to rip the ball and once I kicked ahead it was just a case of getting a lucky bounce."
