Picamoles braced for Bath backlash

Toulouse and France No.8 Louis Picamoles is bracing himself for a massive revenge mission from Bath when they travel to Stade Ernest Wallon to try to keep alive their European Rugby Champions Cup hopes on Sunday.

The Premiership outfit have already won in France once this season, 30-5 at Montpellier, and will be seeking to make up for 19-21 defeat they suffered at the hands of the four time European champions at The Recreation Ground in Round Two.

That was Picamoles' first outing of the season and since then Toulouse have stayed on track for a quarterfinal place, remaining unbeaten in their four Pool four outings to date and notching a six point lead over Glasgow Warriors and Bath.

"We know that if we win we will have qualified for the quarterfinals. But with one game left after Bath we want to keep on winning to prove we are worthy of a home draw," said Picamoles.

"We expect a very tough game on Sunday. Bath had a lot of players drafted for the November internationals and they really are a huge team.

"We won over there in Round Two, but they were missing a lot of important players. They will have the first leg in mind, because nobody likes to lose at home, and they will be looking for revenge on Sunday."

Despite remaining unbeaten in Europe, Toulouse' form in the Top 14 has been patchy and they are currently outside the play-off places.

"Usually, in January, we are in a much more comfortable situation in the Top 14. It's pretty hard to give a specific reason why we are where we are," added Picamoles.

"There are lots of explanations, but we are simply trying to keep focus on what we are able to control – what we do in training and then what we do on and off the pitch."
