Tigers: Job not yet done
Leicester claimed the biggest away victory by any team over Munster as well as becoming the first side to win twice at Thomond Park.
Vereniki Goneva, Michael Fitzgerald and Ben Youngs all crossed in the impressive 31-19 success that leaves Tigers nine points clear at the top of Pool 4.
"It's only the third of the pool stage so we haven't won anything yet or even qualified but not many teams come here and win in Europe and I'm delighted for the team," Director of rugby Cockerill said.
"Munster played very well and there was a prior at the start of the second half when they scored eight points pretty quickly.
"It was a four-point game and we needed to get ourselves a foothold back into it.
"So it was very important we scored next. The try by Ben Youngs was pretty pivotal and he took it very well.
"It's all about finding a way to win games and this team learns it's lessons quickly.
"We want to celebrate a good win for the club but we can't get ahead of ourselves. Next week is another massive game for both teams.
It was the first time Munster had failed to collect even a losing bonus point at home in Europe. And that has raised the stakes even further ahead of the return match at Welford Road.
Cockerill added: "Nothing is won yet but if we win next week that puts us in really good position with Treviso in the round after that.
"But Munster will know if they can come and beat us, they will be right back in the mix, everyone is happy and it's a great win, but it means nothing if we lose next week."
