Warriors brave themselves for mighty Munster

The 2015 Pro12 champions may have lost the lead in Pool One last weekend when Munster picked up a bonus-point in their 32-7 win in Paris over Racing 92, but victories in their final two pool matches against the Irish province this weekend and then Leicester Tigers away should be enough to see them through.

That would take them on to a minimum of 21 points. If that is not good enough to win the pool, then it is a total that should guarantee them a best runners-up spot.

"These next two games give us a chance to qualify from our group. If we beat Munster then Leicester, we'll make the quarters," claimed Glasgow fullback Peter Murchie.

"There's not many times we've been in this position. We've talked about doing it for so long but now the boys are just so determined to make it happen this year.

"We looked at the three-week period starting with Cardiff and ending with the two Champions Cup matches and said it could totally decide the end to our season," he added.

Munster have already beaten Glasgow twice this season – 38-17 in the second round of the Champions Cup at Thomond Park and 16-15 at Scotstoun in December – and a hat-trick will see Rassie Erasmus' men clinch the pool title with a game to play.

But Glasgow warmed up for the crucial clash with a 29-15 home win over Cardiff Blues last weekend in the Pro12 that included a brace of second half tries from Murchie. That moved them into a play-off position and got them in the mood for Munster.

Murchie said: "It's a massive game and we know and that they'll come flying out at us. We've played them twice already this season and lost both times.

"We've got to be more up for it than them. It's going to take our best performance of the season,"
