No home comforts for Cheetahs
NEWS: The Cheetahs will call Amsterdam ‘home’ once again when the Challenge Cup gets underway later this year.
They will kick off their 2025/26 campaign against Exeter Chiefs on Sunday, December 7, at Sandy Park Stadium.
In line with the competition’s requirements for the Cheetahs to be based in Europe as an invited team, the side will again call the NRCA Stadium in Amsterdam, Netherlands, their home ground for Rounds Two and Three of the tournament.
On Saturday, December 13, the Cheetahs will host French powerhouse Stade Français Paris, followed by a clash against Ulster on Sunday, January 11 – both at the NRCA Stadium.
The team will then travel to Paris for Round Four, where they will face Racing 92 at the Paris La Défense Arena on Sunday, January 18.

“It is an honour for the Cheetahs as we take our brand of rugby into the heart of Europe,” said Rory Duncan, CEO of Free State Cheetahs.
“We are grateful to Rugby Netherlands and the EPCR for this opportunity.
“This will be the third consecutive year that Rugby Netherlands has assisted us with a home base, and we are deeply appreciative of their ongoing support.
“Amsterdam provides us with a fantastic platform to connect with new supporters and expats while proudly representing the Free State and South Africa on an international stage.
“Our team is determined to be competitive and to make our mark in this prestigious competition.”
