The outspoken president has been Boudjellal has been fined €75,000 following comments in the wake of Basteraud’s three-week suspension for his homophobic verbal attack on Benetton Treviso forward Sebastian Negri.

The President blasted the EPCR for puritan hypocrisy, stating to the rugbyrama.fr. in February: “What I’m worried about is the Mormon side of the EPCR with its Welsh and Irish (administrators).”

“They’re people who sell morality even though they don’t possess any.

“The same who have ministers who get whipped in private but portray themselves as ‘clean’ in public,”

The EPCR found “Boudjellal made comments that (among other things) allegedly condoned homophobic conduct, discriminated against and insulted various groups, and brought the game of rugby into disrepute by attacking, disparaging and criticising EPCR,” the statement revealed.

“The independent Disciplinary Committee considered the misconduct to have been very serious and determined that both Boudjellal and RC Toulon should receive a significant sanction.
