Leinster trailed 0-14 after just seven minutes to the English Premiership leaders before New Zealand centre Jordie Barrett and South Africa lock RG Snyman inspired the four-time winners to finish the pool stage unbeaten.

Snyman scored two of Leinster’s seven tries.

Meanwhile, Bath prop Ben Obano was shown two yellow cards in the match. The first was for a high tackle on Jamison Gibson-Park, and the second for a scrum offence in the 59th minute.

The story continues below…

The Irish province’s success handed Clermont a last-16 berth, after an 86th-minute try from replacement lock Thomas Ceyte helped the French side to a 33-26 victory over Bristol.

Alfie Barbeary crashed over after just a minute for Bath to open the scoring.

Tom de Glanville then added another with less than 10 minutes on the clock to stun the hosts, before two tries from Robbie Henshaw got them back in the game.

But Bath hit back on the stroke of half-time as Ollie Lawrence sliced through and offloaded out the back to De Glanville for his second, and Finn Russell added the extras from out wide to put them 21-19 up at the break.

However, Leinster put their foot down in the second half to score four tries.
