South African bruiser returns ahead of Leinster v Toulon showdown
NEWS: There were a few familiar faces spotted at Toulon’s first training session this week ahead of their Champions Cup semifinal against Leinster at the Aviva Stadium.
In a boost for the French club, forwards Charles Ollivon and David Ribbans were put through their paces with the rest of the squad.
The duo were not in action in the 52-26 Top 14 win over Bayonne last weekend.
Ollivon appeared to be in good shape. However, there will still be a few question marks over Ribbans, despite his return on the training field.
England’s South African-born international was wearing a vest with a cross on it, which indicated that he is still not over his recurring back pain, which has plagued him over the last few months.
Meanwhile, powerhouse Fijian Setariki Tuicuvu is also back to bolster the backline stocks.
Lock Matthias Halagahu, who was withdrawn ahead of the Bayonne match due to a foot injury, is also back in full training.
Corentin Mézou, who was a starter in the Champions Cup Round of 16 and quarterfinal wins, did not take to the field with the rest of his teammates.
