Stats put Dayimani in elite class

STAT ATTACK: The fleet-footed Hacjivah Dayimani continues to build a strong case for a Springboks call-up.

The Stormers star produced another eye-catching performance during his team’s Champions Cup Round Three match against Sale Sharks.

The loose forward was a central figure during the 31-24 win, claiming the Man of the Match at the Cape Town Stadium.

According to @OptaJonny, Dayimani beat 10 defenders against Sale Sharks, the most of any player in the Champions Cup over the weekend.

To make the feat more impressive, Dayimani now shares that record with Springbok No.8 Jasper Wiese.

The 28-year-old Wiese set to record against Clermont in December 2022.

The dynamic loose forward, who can play across the back row, has been sensational in the No.8 jersey in the absence of injured Evan Roos.

During the match against Sale Sharks, the 26-year-old made a match-high 20 carries and 126 metres, which included two incredible line-breaks.

Speaking after the match, Stormers captain Deon Fourie was full praise for the star.

“He [Dayimani] is a quality player, quality human being,” The World Cup winner Fourie said.

“He is one of the best and has been showing it for the last two seasons.

“He is just that X-factor. You think nothing is going to happen and then he just breaks through.

“If he keeps delivering weekly there will be higher honours for him.”
