The Lions announced their 26-man squad that departed for Montpellier on Tuesday.

The French side is the top side in Pool Two – with two wins in as many outings at 10 points.

The Lions are just behind them in second place with nine points. This puts them in a good position to make it to the knockout stages.

While the United Rugby Championship is arguably the Lions’ main focus, they have had an excellent run in the Challenge Cup, winning their opening two games – against Perpignan away and at home against the Newcastle Falcons.

After recovering from a long-term injury, former Stormer flyhalf Kade Wolhuter joins the Lions for his first tour with the group.

While Jordan Hendrikse and Gianni Lombard will be on the plane to France, Wolhuter might get lucky and win a seat on the bench.
