'The mountain before me appears massive': SA flyhalf prepares for injury battle
NEWS: Some players just have no luck when it comes to injuries.
One of those players is South African flyhalf Kade Wolhuter.
The 24-year-old, who has a history of long-term injuries, is currently grappling with another big setback.
In November, he joined the Bulls on loan from the Lions before making his debut for the Pretoria franchise in the Champions Cup Round Two clash against Northampton at Franklin’s Gardens.
However, his appearance in the No.10 jersey in the 5-50 defeat was cut short in the 67th minute with another serious knee injury.
Wolhuter has now taken to social media to get something off his chest.
“I’ve been trying to come to terms with the reality of rupturing my third ACL in six years and right now the mountain before me appears massive but I have peace in knowing that I’ve come back twice before and I will come back again!” Wolhuter told fans on Instagram.
“I really appreciate all the support and I’m going to need it during this period, so thank you in advance; it doesn’t go unnoticed.”
In last Saturday’s United Rugby Championship derby against the Sharks in Durban, Springbok star Handre Pollard returned to the Bulls ‘ playmaking role in a 12-21 defeat.
