The prodigy standing between the Saints and a title
SPOTLIGHT: From the World Cup to the Six Nations and the Champions Cup, Louis Bielle-Biarrey’s try-scoring record speaks for itself.
The superstar Bordeaux-Begles wing showcased his brilliance once more in the semifinal against Toulouse last weekend.
Could Northampton be his next victim in the forthcoming Champions Cup Final?
Because the question is no longer whether Bielle-Biarrey will score, but when. For most of this season, opponents have seen the back of this fine player with the red helmet slip into their in-goal.
Bielle-Biarrey, named Six Nations player of the tournament after a sublime campaign that helped France secure the title, continued his excellent club season with a two-try performance against Toulouse, conjuring a crucial score out of nothing at the start of the second half.
Bordeaux-Begles came through in a 35-18 all-French semifinal after the winger struck twice.
The France speedster showed why he is one of the world’s best players as he came to the fore with an outstanding attacking performance.
He has now scored 18 tries for his club so far this season.
The 21-year-old has been called a phenomenon, rugby’s deadliest finisher, and a little magician, and with Antoine Dupont out, Bielle-Biarrey is probably the best thing going for France at the moment.
From unbelievable tries to clutch plays that leave one and all stunned, Bielle-Biarrey continues to redefine greatness on the pitch.

Louis Bielle-Biarry was born on June 19, 2003, in La Tronche, not far from Grenoble in south-east France
When he was just five years old, his parents introduced him to rugby, and he was immediately hooked. At just 13, he joined his local club and later continued his training in Grenoble.
He spent five seasons at Grenoble before flying to Bordeaux-Bégles during the 2021 offseason.
Scarlets fans will remember his senior debut for Bordeaux at the age of 18. He scored a hat-trick against them in a Champions Cup match on January 16, 2022, and was named Player of the Match.
His first selection for France’s Under-20s was just six days after his 18th birthday.
In 2023, he should have gone to the U20 World Rugby, but France head coach Fabien Galthie insisted he – and fellow age-grade prodigy Emilien Gailleton – should rather train with the senior World Cup squad.
After three outings for France in World Cup warm-up matches against Scotland (twice) and Fiji, Galthie selected him for the 33-player squad. He is the youngest player ever to be called up to the French World Cup.
Bielle-Biarrey’s meteoric rise in international rugby reached another milestone after he was voted the 2025 Men’s Six Nations Player of the Championship. His scintillating form throughout the tournament was a key factor in France’s title-winning campaign.
The speedster not only played a pivotal role in securing the Six Nations crown but also rewrote the record books, becoming the highest try-scorer in a single Championship during the Six Nations era.
At 21 years old, the wing finished a Six Nations Championship with eight tries in six games.
His tally of eight tries surpassed the previous record set in 2018 by Ireland’s Jacob Stockdale, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most dangerous finishers in world rugby.
