VIDEO: Future Bok gets noticed by Europe

By @rugby365com
Wednesday 17 Dec 2025

SPOTLIGHT: Paul de Villiers’ stock continues to rise with each appearance in a Stormers jersey.

Last weekend’s man-of-the-match performance in the 42-21 win over Stade Rochelais was another example.

He was his team’s top tackler (16), and he also featured amongst the group for top metres gained (47).

The 22-year-old was also a menace at the breakdowns, winning two brilliant turnovers.

In the 26-17 Round One victory over Aviron Bayonnais, he notched up 14 tackles, two turnovers and 21 metres with his carries.

He has now been rewarded for his performances in the first two rounds of the Champions Cup with a nomination for Player of the Month for December.

The other nominees include Adam Hastings (Glasgow Warriors), George Hendy (Northampton Saints), Matthieu Jalibert (Bordeaux-Begles), and Sione Tuipulotu (Glasgow Warriors).

Fans and pundits have labelled De Villiers a future Bok, and if he continues on this trajectory, it will happen sooner rather than later.

See below for the video highlighting all the nominees:
