'Gutted': Bath Fans react to Bok's Sharks decision

REACTION: Bath confirmed that Springbok prop Thomas du Toit will leave the Premiership side at the end of the season to return to the Durban-based Sharks.

Du Toit, a 2019 World Cup winner with the Boks, became a cult hero for Bath during his stint since 2023.

He’s been instrumental in their Challenge Cup, Premiership Rugby Cup, and Premiership win last season and will leave a huge void when he returns home to South Africa.

Fans from all spectrums paid tribute to Du Toit for his contributions to Bath.

On X, fans had more reactions

“Going to be impossible to replace…will likely need to sign two players to make up the impact. One of the best signings Bath ever made.”

“Gutted to be losing such an amazing player, thank you for all you have done for Bath. Hope all goes well in South Africa.”

“A great Bath legend! What a loss, but let’s hope he can finish with a few more trophies.”

“Big loss this!! Not just to Bath either, but to the Prem at large!!! Absolute warrior of a man!!!”

“The best prop ever to grace the Rec, surely! His impact since his arrival has been nothing but seismic. 21 tries in 52 appearances is just crazy! A huge void to fill, but a whole season ahead.”
