De Kock in sparkling form for Sarries

Scrumhalf Neil de Kock said Saracens were "very happy" with their 25-23 win over Newcastle Falcons.

The experienced No.9 crossed for Saracens' first try of the game during the first half, in a contest that the north Londoners narrowly won after Newcastle centre Juan Pablo Socino missed a late conversion for the home side.

"I thought for 70 minutes we were really good, and in the last 10 minutes we let the game get a little bit loose," the 35-year-old De Kock said.

"Credit to Newcastle, they came back with two tries and put us under a lot of pressure.

"We were disappointed with the end, but overall for large parts of the game I thought they were very good, and we put them under a lot of pressure. We got the win and we're very happy with that.

"I enjoyed being out on the field and it was good to be out there amongst it. I thought across the board the boys were brilliant.

"I was lucky that I didn't have to do so much for the try, I just had to fall over the line with no-one in front of me. If I got that wrong, it would have been pretty embarrassing!"

He added; "It was a big performance from everyone. To come up to Newcastle at this time of the year is not easy. So we're very happy with the win".
