Jones re-signs with Harlequins

"Since Adam arrived over the summer, his impact on the group cannot be understated. He has been, and will continue to be, a huge influence on the whole group through his demeanour and professionalism.

"He has worked tirelessly with all the front row members and has taken time to come down to do some sessions with our Academy Elite Player Development Group.

"Most importantly, he is still a competitor who wants to win things and I have no doubt he will help us hugely in that quest. The competition between Adam, Kyle Sinckler, Will Collier and Matt Shields can only make us and them better. We are delighted he has committed for another year," Harlequins director of rugby, Conor O'Shea said.

Jones is one of the most recognisable front row forwards in the game and was awarded the first of his 95 Welsh caps in 2003, against England.

Winning four Six Nations titles, the Abercrave-born tighthead prop has competed in three World Cups and toured with the British and Irish Lions on two occasions – first in 2009 and then on the victorious 2013 tour to Australia.

Joining Harlequins after retiring from the international arena and making six appearances for the club to date, he has made an invaluable impact at Harlequins since joining.

"I'm chuffed to bits to have re-signed for such a prestigious club. I'm really enjoying my rugby here at Harlequins and it's great to see the wealth of talent coming through the ranks. It's an exciting place to be right now and I'm grateful to both Conor O'Shea and John Kingston for giving me the opportunity to continue here," Jones said.
