And Premiership Rugby have announced that Newcastle have been awarded four points and Leicester two following the cancellation of their Round Four match. The game, scheduled for Boxing Day, was cancelled after the Tigers returned a small number of positive tests following the latest round of PCR testing.

As a result a large portion of the squad, who had not tested positive, were also ruled out of the game due to contact tracing.

The Tigers’ training ground was then closed in order to try prevent a further outbreak of coronavirus at the club.
