With Tusi Pisi sidelined for up to four months with a groin injury and Callum Sheedy (hamstring), Adrian Jarvis (calf) and Gavin Henson (dead leg) currently unavailable, Andy Robinson has bolstered his flyhalf options with the arrival of the 30-year-old.

Welcoming the flyhalf was the Bristol Director of Rugby Robinson who said: "Shane [Geraghty] brings with him a knowledge of top-level rugby and an understanding of the rigours and demands of Premiership rugby.

"He can play at flyhalf and inside centre, has a good kicking percentage and has the ability to create opportunities for his distribution and footwork.

"Shane [Geraghty] comes into the squad and we are confident he can add something to us, especially in an area where we are short of players at the moment,"

A graduate of the London Irish Academy, Geraghty has represented Northampton Saints, Brive and England at Under-21 and Saxons level.

Commenting on his move to Bristol, Geraghty said: "I’m pleased to be joining Bristol Rugby and I’m looking forward to working hard and contributing where I can.
