VIDEO: Sarries have the monkey off their backs

Saracens produced a commanding display with a 29-17 win over Leicester Tigers at Welford Road, to climb to second in the table behind leaders Exeter.

"It was a confident display from us," Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said.

"We were good with or without the ball and our penalty count was very low.

"We were a bit frustrated that we left some tries out there, I felt that we were down their end quite a bit and had some opportunities that we didn't take but all things considered it was a very pleasing performance.

"We didn't think there was that much wrong before, you can always get better and we can get better from what happened in this match.

"Jackson [Wray] has been one of our most consistent performers for ages and I thought he was exceptional in how he carried the ball.

"A lot of people played really well, Ben Spencer was great, Marcelo Bosch at inside centre played well against Manu Tuilagi and Matt Toomua, across the board it was a very confident and controlled performance which is very pleasing."

Leicester Tigers chief Matt O'Connor said: "I would dearly love for the lawmakers to look at it because it is never a red card.

"It is tough but that is the way they are refereeing it and the way it is going.

"No question marks about the result. You can't give Sarries 17 points and expect to pull it back."
