Former rugby league star Langley originally joined Sharks as Peak Performance Coach ahead of the 2021/22 season and played a key off-field role as the club reached the Premiership final the following season.

He stepped up to take control of the Sales’ defence in early 2023 after long-term Defence Coach Mike Forshaw left the club to join Warren Gatland’s backroom staff at the Wales team.

Sharks Director of Rugby Alex Sanderson said: “Jamie is a hugely popular figure at the club and he has been an invaluable part of our coaching team for more than three years now.

“He’s played a huge role in the success we’ve had in the last three seasons and I’ve got no doubt he’ll go on to achieve great things in whatever he chooses to do next.

“Everyone at the club wishes him all the very best for the future.

Sale Sharks will confirm a replacement in the coming days.
